If you found this site through the website name, you won’t be surprised to learn that I’m Jerry! Jerry Lamberth in fact. I’m a Brit who grew up just outside London, but I’m lucky enough right now to be living in North of Spain.
I’ve been playing guitar since I was about 13 years old, starting with a good old beaten up nylon string (didn’t we all?), and progressing to my first steel string acoustic by about the age of 15. On that old guitar I devoured the styles of the 70’s acoustic singer-songwriters. While my friends were listening to new wave and punk, I was picking up every album I could find by Simon & Garfunkel, James Taylor, Cat Stevens, Ralph McTell, Joni Mitchell, and on and on. You get the picture…
Rock didn’t pass me by though. I loved and still love those iconic 60’s bands like the Stones and the Beatles, as well as having quite a taste for the more psychedelic side of music. (I was never quite the same after hearing ‘After Bathing at Baxters’ for the first time. Well, we all have those albums that change us forever don’t we?) The bug to play electric hit me at about 18, and it hasn’t left me for even a day since.
So what does all this mean for patrons of JerrysGuitarBar.com? It means I love music of all kinds. And I’ll be teaching you how to play music of all kinds. And I’ll do it without getting technical or flashy. I remember what it was like learning at first. “It don’t come easy” as somebody kinda famous once wrote.
Ok so this is going to sound cheesy, but my goal with JerrysGuitarBar.com is for you to be able to play the music you love. Whether that’s a simple strummed accompaniment to 3-chord song, or whether it’s how to improvise a lead guitar solo in a rockabilly style, or any other style, I want to produce exactly what you need.
And because of that I’ll always be around, by email, and on the Facebook page, to answer your questions and just to chew the fat about music and why we love it. After all, isn’t that the one thing we all share?
Keep on picking!
