How Jerry’s Guitar Bar Uses Cookies
A cookie is a small piece of text sent to your browser by a website that you visit. It helps the website to remember information about your visit. That can make your next visit easier and the site more useful to you. Without cookies, using the web would be a much more frustrating experience.
We use cookies for only a few purposes. We use them, for example, to know whether or not you have logged in to comment, to make the ads that you see more relevant to you, to count how many visitors we receive to a page, to help you order our lessons, (both free and paid), and to protect your data.
We do not, and never will, store any sensitive or personal data. We do not, and never will, pass any data to third parties. Note, though, that Google will use cookies on Jerry’s Guitar Bar to target advertising and to track visitor numbers and locations.
You can see details of the type of cookies used by Jerry’s Guitar Bar here:
Processes
Process cookies help make the website work and deliver services that the website visitor expects, like navigating around web pages or accessing secure areas of the website. Without these cookies, the website cannot function properly.
For example, we use a cookie called PHPSESSID which manages the addition of items to the shopping cart and allows error messages to be displayed if something goes wrong. It doesn’t store any personal data. Our site, like most other websites, includes features provided by third parties (in our case, Google’s external supplements). A common example is a built-in YouTube video.
The information collected from Google’s external supplements on our Website, including the user’s IP address, can be transmitted to Google and stored on their servers. This information is entirely managed by Google. These cookies do not identify the user personally unless you have a Google session active, remaining in that case linked to said Google account.

Our site includes the following Google features that use cookies:
YouTube: This is the platform we use to show the videos of the classes on our site.
In some parts of Jerry’s Guitar Bar videos embedded in YouTube are shown. The cookies implemented by Google on any page that includes a YouTube video are used to measure the number and behavior of YouTube users, including the information linking the visit to our Website with their Google account in case they have activate a session. Its use implies the referral of cookies PREF, NID, LOGIN_INFO, ACTIVITY, DKV, SAPISID, SID, SSID, VISITOR_INFO1_LIVE, YSC, in addition to the cookies that Google requires if you keep the active session with your account, for the purpose of viewing the embedded videos, estimate bandwidth, and show how many times it has been played.

Google Docs and Google Drive – are the services we use to create and store a form where you can leave us your requests.
The use of these functions implies the acceptance of Google cookies. Disabling these cookies will probably break the features offered by Google.
Advertising
Google use cookies on Jerry’s Guitar Bar to make advertising more engaging to users and more valuable to publishers and advertisers. They select advertising based on what’s relevant to a user, to improve reporting on campaign performance, and to avoid showing ads the user has already seen.
Google uses two cookies on our site to show you ads they feel will be relevant to you. These are named _drt and id. id is helping to show you relevant ads while _drt is providing information about the effectiveness of the advertising. This cookie will for example, remember your most recent searches, your previous interactions with an advertiser’s ads or search results, and your visits to an advertiser’s website. This helps Google (on the Jerry’s Guitar Bar site) to show you customized ads.
Analytics
Google Analytics is Google’s analytics tool that helps website owners to understand how their visitors engage with their site. On Jerry’s Guitar Bar it uses a set of cookies to collect information and report website usage statistics without personally identifying individual visitors to Google. These cookies are _ga, _gat and _gid. These record general data only – nothing that identifies you as an individual. It tells us, for example, how many people visited the site, which pages were visited by what number of people and what is the percentage of visitors by country.
The user may exclude their individual activity through the exclusion systems provided by Google Analytics.

Hi John
The warning is a false positive. Please check Norton site safety check website, (Or any of the many others). They’ll all confirm the safety of the site.
Hundreds of people are downloading lessons every day and in 6 years we’ve never had a report of anything unwanted being downloaded. We take malware security very seriously.
