Download Help: How to Open Your Lesson Files
Opening your lesson is simple. Your download arrives as a ZIP file (a folder that contains your videos and PDFs). Follow the steps below for your device.
1) Download your lesson (important)
Your download link is active for 72 hours and has a limited number of download attempts (5 attempts).
Please download and save the ZIP file to your device as soon as possible.
Once the ZIP is saved, you can keep and use the lesson files anytime — the time limit only applies to the download link.
If your link expires or you have any trouble, contact us and we will help.
2) What is a ZIP file?
A ZIP file is simply a folder that contains your lesson videos (MP4) and PDFs.
Before you can use the files, you need to extract (open) the ZIP so the normal folder appears.
You do not need to buy any software to open a ZIP file on most computers and devices.
3) Windows (PC)
Open your Downloads folder.
Find the file ending in .zip
Right-click the ZIP file.
Click Extract All…
Open the new folder that appears — your MP4 videos and PDF files are inside.
4) Mac
Open your Downloads folder.
Double-click the ZIP file.
A normal folder will appear.
Open that folder — your MP4 videos and PDF files are inside.
5) iPhone / iPad
Download the ZIP file.
Open the Files app.
Go to Downloads.
Tap the ZIP file.
A folder will appear — open it to access your MP4 videos and PDFs.
Tip: it’s usually easiest to download to the Files app first, then open the ZIP from there.
6) Android
Download the ZIP file.
Open your Files app (or “My Files” / “File Manager”).
Go to Downloads.
Tap the ZIP file and choose Extract (wording may vary).
Open the extracted folder to access your MP4 videos and PDFs.
7) Common issues (quick fixes)
I can’t find the download email
Check your Spam/Junk folder.
Search your inbox for “Jerry’s Guitar Bar”.
If you still can’t find it, contact us and we’ll help.
The ZIP won’t open / says it’s corrupted
The download may not have finished. Try downloading again.
I paid for WinZip / another app
You usually don’t need paid software. Windows and Mac can open ZIP files without it.
