Many people want to download their lessons from Jerry’s Guitar Bar to their iPad or iPhone. Unfortunately these devices can’t download zip files. (Come on Apple – please add this feature!)
My thanks to techy guru Troy Frommer for permission to link to his great page explaining how you can download your lessons to your iPad or iPhone. He only talks about iPhones but assures me that it works for iPads as well.

How To Download Your Jerry’s Guitar Bar lessons to your iPad or iPhone
And please note that you can download the lessons to a PC or Mac and then play the videos on your iPad or iPhone if you transfer them.
Derek Rocha says
Dear JerrysGuitarBar,
I am not %100 certain, but with an extra file manager app & my own Google Files app. It is also a necessity to install an Adobe PDF. App reader or viewer; and then we are able to download the zip file format and also read them on any mobile device that isn’t too outdated. It has also been brought to my attention that the zip file, and jpeg file are related. I have signed up to Apple. They are not going to be releasing anything to download and view and read all of the above, unless someone combines that technology in a single program for a period of time.
John Lockwood says
Hi…I’m more than happy with the half dozen lessons I’ve bought but now wish that I’d downloaded onto my Mac. Do I have an account with you, and if so can I re-download or is it a “one off”…
Jerry says
Hi John
Do you have the original download link emails? If so you can download again from those.
If not, email me at jerrysguitarbar AT gmail.com using the email you would have used for the purchases and we’ll send them to you again.
Jeff M. says
I have iPad (7th gen) and have no problem with zip files.
Mike P says

Hi Again Michael
I can confirm that att.net are not delivering any of our emails to you. I’ve sent several now without reply. I’ve refunded the lesson. Do you have any other email address I can send to?

You want to transfer the MP4 videos and PDF tabs from your PC to your iPhone?
Google is your friend. I Googled it and found this (along with many other relevant pages):

Your work is just excellent.I really love your work and thanks for sharing it’s very helpful.

I can’t tell you enough how much joy it brings to a hack like me to not be able still to change chords properly and yet learn how to play Something Fine by one of my all time music heroes Jackson Browne. My family may not agree because I’ve practiced that opening riff so many times, they now hear it in their sleep! I can’t wait to get started on my next song from you.
Steve Goss says
Jerry;
Just wanted to give you a shout out for all the great music you have been teaching. I have been purchasing your lessons like a mad man since coming across your website. It is not just that your lesson are so accurate, it’s that you take the time to go over the entire piece, especially the difficult parts and that you count out the rhythm. Thanks so much for all you do. It is really appreciated!
Jerry says
Thanks Steve. Really appreciate the support :)
Paul c says
Diddo to the comments about counting out the rhythm really helps a lot
Clifford says

Paul says

Caesar says
Just purchased the Eagles Desperado tutorial, great job. I was wondering if you plan on adding a John Fogerty Collection? Also, have you considered playing the entire song from start to finish on your videos? Having the song from start to finish will allow us to play along with the video.
Jerry says
Hi Caesar.
Re John Fogery/ Creedence, yes definitely they’re on the list to do in the future.
Re the whole song being played, I include a play thru of the whole song in all my lessons. Your message sent me back to check Desperado, andf somehow that one is missing from the download package. I’m uploading it now and we’ll get it out to you.
Thanks for the heads up.

I have an iMac. I found that each zip file would only download individually from Jerry’s thanks for purchasing email and that optimising or reducing my iMac’s memory usage helped to speed up the download process. I downloaded Dr. Cleaner from the App store and clicked on the ‘Optimize’ button before and once during each download. I then dragged the downloaded zip files into Dropbox as suggested by Derek and all of the files open instantly.
Jerry says
Thanks for the detailed explanation Alan. I’m sure it will help other iMac users. Just for the record, I thought iMacs (unlike iPads and iPhones) can recognise and download zip files the same way ordinary PCs and Macs can. Am I wrong?
Alan P says
Hi Jerry, You are right! For some reason I could not open the zip files on my iMac yesterday, they would only open from within Dropbox. However, today I moved the files back to my PC and the zip files open and play instantly with Quick Time Player.
Derek says
Downloading no problem if you have a PC.
Download to your P.C then use the PC to put into DropBox.
Now look ito drop box on your ipad and download.
Its easy.
Allan Burrows says
Ignore that previous comment all working now. Added to reading list and the link is in there if that’s any help.
Allan Burrows says
In the link in how to unzip files the first instruction is to open link in Safari but there’s no link in Safari only in email. Bit confusing.

Jerry says
Hi Warren
Can you email me at [email protected] telling where in the process it falls down for you and what happens? Your laptop should be much easier than the android. It really should be a case of just click the link and it downloads, then double click the file and it opens (via your zip program).
