Donovan Guitar Lessons
Learn how to play the songs by Donovan note-for-note on guitar with the Donovan Guitar Lessons. Each lesson includes the playthru, video lesson, songsheet with chords and tab.
Click on any of the song titles to see a clip from the start of the lesson. (The free ones you can download in their entirety.)
You’ll receive at least two videos per song, one lesson and one performance-standard play-through. You’ll also receive the chords/lyrics and guitar tabs as PDF files.
The videos are mp4 format and should play on PC’s, Macs and most mobile devices.
They will download as Zip files. If you don’t have a Zip program on your PC you’ll need to install one to open the file.
If you want to download to an iPad or iPhone, please read here.

I would be over the moon to learn ‘Little Tin Soldier” the way Donovan plays it. It’s the perfect song to sing to children to get them interested in playing the guitar. What’s better than a little tin soldier with only one leg falling in love with a tiny ballerina in a little glass case? Priceless!

A great collection of Donovan tutorials here. “West Indian Lady” from The Hurdy Gurdy Man album would be a good addition.
How about “London Town” ? :) Love your stuff thank you.

Dear Sir, after a really long time i’m still waiting for:
Remember to Alamo from Donovan
Will you do it in the next time, would be fine.
Please check the songs that are on the site before writing messages like this.
Remember the Alamo was done several months ago.
It isn’t on the to-do list so far. I’ll add it.

The version of Donovan’s “The Olive Tree” from the Sunshine Superman DVD, i.e. the one that shows him sitting cross-legged playing and singing it.
