Hi,
just purchased “Where do the children play” and noticed that you use a different G on the lesson and play thru, with the open 5th string. Did you find a better sound at some point :) Thanks, love the lessons.
Jerry says
Sometimes I play G with the 6th string finger just touching (and thereby muting) the 5th string. The note that would be on the 5th string (B) is already in the chord on the open 2nd string. It’s not necessary to replicate my habit. Either fingering will work just fine. Just make sure you don’t hear the open G.

Jerry … Many thanks to you for providing superb guitar teachings. I have always wanted to add fingerpicking style to my flatpicking basics on guitar.
With Katmandu, Moonshadow and The Wind by Cat Stevens, I am well on my way.
If You decide to add any more of Cats songs to the collection, may I reccomend
” If I Laugh ” and ” Into White ” …. two absolutely beautiful fingerstyle Cat classics.

Hi Gary.
Both of those are coming. If I Laugh will be quite soon, although I don’t think it’s fingerpicked.
