Christmas Songs – The Christmas Song

Learn how to play Christmas Songs – The Christmas Song note-for-note on guitar.
Difficulty level: Intermediate
Barre chords: Yes
Thumb over chords: No
Playing Style: Fingerpicked
Tuning: Standard
This lesson teaches an arrangement of the classic Christmas song for acoustic guitar and voice. It’s a great exercise in jazz progressions. Just take the bridge, for example. It’s one of the best examples of a jazz composer moving through various ii-V-I changes to set up new key centres. But if all that makes you glaze over, fear not. The song is taught note-by-note and it’s playable by any guitarist with a reasonable level of experience.
The complete file contains a lesson video, a performance play thru video, full tabs, chords and lyrics. You’ll receive a link to download the lesson which will download as a zip file of 233 Mb containing all the lesson content.

Hi Jerry,
I’m just previewing all the Christmas Songs and after hearing about three or four I sure want to say thank you to you and Isabel. These are so wonderful and they are coming out at the right time so we can work on them. They are simply lovely!
Many Happy Regards,
W.T. Martin

Nice vocal performance. Who’s singing?
Jerry says
That’s my better half Isabel. She has a great voice!

Tony Rice says to put the capo as close to the fret or on top of it so you don’t pull the tuning sharp.
