Don McLean – Crossroads

Learn how to play Don McLean – Crossroads note-for-note on guitar.
Difficulty level: Intermediate
Barre chords: Yes
Thumb over chords: Yes
Playing Style: Fingerpicked
Tuning: Standard
The song is accompanied on piano on the American Pie album. I’ve arranged it for solo guitar accompaniment in the style of Don McLean. It’s in the key of G, a key he used for many of his most famous songs, so we have a lot of examples to choose from of the different ways he approaches the chords in that key. I’ve borrowed liberally from those songs to choose the accompaniment pattern examples here.
