Hi Jerry, wanted to let you know I am really enjoying these lessons. On this Croce song, I am having a hard time hammering the pinky on the D chord for the initial riff. Its a stretch. Wondering if you have any tips. Thanks. Keep up these great lessons!

Hi Lou
The guitar teacher in me feels obliged to say ‘keep practising it – it will come’, which is true :)
But a workaround would be to use the middle finger on the 4th string, 2nd fret, slide it up (instead of hammer on) to the 4th fret and then use the index finger to play the note on the 2nd string 3rd fret.
Hope that makes sense

Thanks Jerry. I did the former, kept working at it and think I’ve finally got it! Now if I could only learn how to sing!;-)

Id like to comment about Jim and Maury’s incredible skill in their day for adding a little spice to all of their music, and not simply strumming everything. Reminds me a lot of John Denver style. Jerry you really do an incredible job of breaking these and other songs down for us with lessor playing skills to learn. I for one appreciate your work very much.

Awesome! Thanks you so much! More Croce, please!

Very happy to get a lesson for I Got A Name. Jerry’s accuracy in fingerpicked songs is always amazing. The solo lesson is a nice bonus. Jim Croce and Maury Muehleisen were phenomenal songwriters and musicians. It’s wonderful to see their music live on and continue to be performed all these years later.
