Back Home Again is one of John Denver’s most comforting and enduring songs — warm, heartfelt, and built on that easy-going fingerpicked feel that defined his style. On the original recording, John plays a simple chordal accompaniment while the band fills out the texture.In this lesson, I’ve taken John’s core rhythm pattern as the foundation and woven in some of the bass runs and lead licks from the studio version to make it a complete solo performance. The result keeps the relaxed, homespun feel of the original but adds musical interest and movement when played on one guitar.
