John Denver – Rhymes and Reasons
Learn how to play John Denver – Rhymes and Reasons note-for-note on guitar.
Difficulty level: Intermediate
Barre chords: Yes
Thumb over chords: Yes
Playing Style: Fingerpicked (Travis Picked)
Tuning: Downtuned by a full step
This lesson teaches John’s guitar part from the original studio version. It’s taught on a 12-string. That’s what John played it on, and although I tried it on a 6-string, it sounds so different that I made the decision to go with the authentic 12-string. However, if you only have a 6-string, you can play the song as taught here on that instrument.
