Sting – Shape Of My Heart Guitar Lesson Info
Learn how to play Sting – Shape Of My Heart note-for-note on guitar with our detailed step-by-step guitar lesson.
Shape of My Heart has one of the most subtly syncopated and beautiful guitar parts in Sting’s catalogue. Dominic Miller, whose part it is, plays it higher up the neck using some shapes that require wide stretches. Without changing any of the notes, I’ve moved it to the first position where it’s easier to play (note – easier, not easy). It has Sting’s characteristic ‘hinting at jazz’ feel, with its 6th chords and syncopation, but nothing here will feel strange to guitarists used to playing the expert singer songwriter guitarists like James Taylor and Paul Simon.
